Used Advance Utah - Many lift trucks are driven using liquid propane. Even if a few facilities would have refuelling capabilities on site, many will have cylinders delivered to their headquarters instead. If a lift truck runs out of fuel, the cylinders are changed. A few training and cautions is required whenever handling propane as it is a highly combustible substance. Directions PPE or Personal Protective Equipment, must be worn whenever changing or refilling a lift truck cylinder. The liquid is really cold and could result in burning or irritation when it comes into contact with skin. All the time having on thick leather gloves will help protect hands. Goggles or several standard eyewear along with a face shield is likewise extremely recommended. Having a fire extinguished within the immediate vicinity is also recommended before the refuelling method starts. Be sure that the surroundings are safe from whichever open fires or lit cigarettes. Find the fill valve on the cylinder and take out the cover. After that you could connect the fill line to the fill valve. As soon as the fill line is in place, carefully open the bleed valve. This will be a small spherical knob on the cylinder that is usually brass coloured. A hissing sound could escape when the valve is open and this is normal so long as it is only air being vented and not actual propane. Open the valve extremely unhurriedly on the fill line, listening for whichever leaks. If there are no leaks, then the valve can be carefully opened. The sounds of fuel entering the tank should be easy to hear. On no account leave the tank unattended whenever refuelling and watch the bleeder valve during the method. A spray of white propane gas will emit from the bleeder valve once the tank is full. Turn the fill valve off entirely and after that close the bleeder valve. Extremely slowly and cautiously take out the fill line from the tank. Watch for whatever excess gas caught in the coupling that would be expelled when the seal is broken.
