Motorized Pallet Truck
The Walkie-Rider, Walkie or Rider is a Motorized Pallet Truck which is basically a motorized type of a pallet jack. They come in both "Rider" versions and "Walkie" models.
The walkie type as the name implies, is made to allow the operator to walk along the machine as they lift and move cargo. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are great for frequent moving of cargo over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing operations. They are highly fast and maneuverable.
It is essential to remember that there is no safety cage on this model and thus, it is not recommended to move tall or unstable loads utilizing these machinery. A rider can be the perfect answer if you are looking for a cheap method for moving loads from point A to point B. If though, you should transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model can be the right option.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machinery is specially designed for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks attached to a platform in the Man-up design. This particular platform elevates both the operator and the load in an effort to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Typically, the order selector is a very narrow aisle vehicle which could operate in smaller aisles. They are really handy pieces of equipment during physical inventories as well as during cycle counting situations. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models that range in the 20 to 30 foot range are much more common.
