In the year 1966, Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries. At that time, he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift that operated on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" which was used to lower and raise the hoist. This device greatly impressed clients and therefore, the name was established.
Genie has moved into many new markets, because the demand for work platforms and lifts grew. Over time, as the demand for new equipment to meet many applications grew, the company made itself known in many new markets. Like for instance, Genie went into making stick booms, telehandlers, articulated booms, light towers and man-lifts.
Genie decided to secure a partner who had the same values because of the economic downturn during the start of the 2000s, when they partnered along with Terex. This company has a history obtaining machine manufacturers across the globe who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Due to the Genie name and its solid reputation in the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the first few years following the sale. Hence, all Genie machinery continue to be marketed under the Genie brand name.
Genie takes pride in listening to their customers. The company is dedicated to continually improving quality and efficiency and is also committed to lessening waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company concentrates on offering outstanding support. These are the very work disciplines that have made Genie a trusted brand over the past decades and continue to keep their reputation for quality and top-of-the-line equipment.
Genie's DC and Bi-Energy machines are emission-free, quiet machines capable of working in delicate work environments. Where the machine should be driven significant distances, like for example in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the advantages of a 48V DC equipment along with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
Telescopic booms offer greater horizontal reach, as opposed to any of the different aerial platforms. These machinery are great for small areas or limited access areas in all types of settings. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to offer utmost productivity. These equipment deliver supreme traction and the drive speed you need in order to travel around the job area and work site.
