What is the Difference between Cushion Tire and Pneumatic Tire?

Amongst the most popular questions regarding this type of machinery is knowing the difference between cushion tire forklifts and pneumatic tire forklifts. Each and every tire type is particularly suited for different requirements.

Pneumatic Tires have air inside of them, similar to tires on a vehicle. These kinds of tires are ideal for indoor use but they are most effective in outdoor "yard" applications and on gravel and uneven surfaces.

Cushion tires are designed as a solid industrial tire which is used mostly for indoor operation. These tires can be utilized outdoors on asphalt surfaces only. If you do drive cushion tires outdoors, there is an option to get traction tires on the front of the machine. These are called the drive tires. The steer tires or the back tires are specifically made for steering. Traction tires located on the forklift's rear will just wear out faster. Hence, if you do need to work outdoors, having traction on the front and the smooth tires on the back would be the safest and most economical way to operate.

What is the difference between Air Pneumatic and Solid Pneumatic tires?

When trying to know the main distinction between the two kinds of tires, it could be somewhat difficult. They both operate in the same outdoor conditions like asphalt, and gravel. The main difference between the two types of tires is solid pneumatics are made of solid rubber. This means you cannot gouge, puncture and pop them since they are strong. These tires are more costly compared to air pneumatic tires because they are made up of way more rubber. These tires are best suited for places such as scrap yards and lumber yards where there can be plenty of debris or sharp objects on the ground.

Air pneumatic tires could be punctured accidentally. When this happens, you can get flat tires from them. Prior to operating a forklift with air pneumatic tires, inspect your work area and be sure that the yard is free of debris, sharp metals and nails. In most applications, regular air pneumatic tires work really great.
