Hyundai Cushion Tire Forklifts

Forklift Tires
When it comes to installation types, there are two types regarding forklift tires: standard and press on. Typically, press on tires are used on electric forklifts and those models used indoors like for instance warehouses. The press on tires can also be used in light industrial operation as well.

Standard tires are generally used on forklifts which operate in outdoor settings or where rough or uneven surfaces require tougher tires and more traction.

Since there are a lot of various types of forklifts, there are also many different types of forklift tires. The most frequently utilized tires are polyurethane, pneumatic and solid. The kind of tires are dictated by what and where the forklift is used for. It is essential to obtain the right tires for the job and ensuring the proper pick would have a big impact on both performance and safety.

For outdoor forklifts which have to function in an all-terrain atmosphere like on a construction site, the best option would be pneumatic tires. These are constructed out of durable rubber and then filled with air, like a truck or tractor tire. Pneumatic tires create an air cushion between the forklift and the terrain. This particular design considerably lessens the wear and tear on the machinery and creates a very comfortable ride for the operator. The thick, deep treads on the tires give the necessary traction needed for use on uneven and rough surfaces.

For light industrial use, both outdoors and indoors, solid tires are suitable. They are fabricated out of tough, constructed solid rubber. This helps them to stay safer from blowouts, popping like pneumatic tires or damage due to puncture wounds. Since these tires are not filled with air, they could not provide the cushion effect. This fact makes them unsuitable for use on rough terrain. Several solid tires are made with holes in the sidewalls to provide a rather softer ride. The only problem is that this kind of construction makes the load carrying capacity of the forklift less.

Although they are intended for indoor warehouse applications only, polyurethane forklift tires would normally outlast both rubber tire designs. The load capacity of polyurethane is a lot higher than that of a rubber tire. These tires work great with well with electric forklifts due to the added weight of the batteries of the equipment. Because of the lower rolling resistance of the tires, another benefit of this type of tire is the extended battery life.
