TCM Lifts

There are two basic types of forklifts, units that run on gas and those that run on electricity:

IC or Internal Combustion Lift trucks: The Internal Combustion lift truck would run on fuels like gas, liquid propane, compressed natural gas or CNG or diesel. Gas powered units are great for outdoor applications because they produce gases and pollutants which are harmful to employees and pedestrians. Gas units are also suitable to be utilized in bad weather conditions and in the rain. These units could carry weights roughly 15,000 to 35,000 pounds. Due to the fuel expenses and maintenance, the gas powered units are much more expensive to use compared to units which run on electricity, however, they cost much less up front compared to electric powered models. Units that run on liquid propane are the right option for safe use inside.

Electric Forklifts: The electric lift truck units are powered by really huge batteries that must be recharged. The vehicles do not create any polluting air emissions like these units do not burn any fuel. They are the best choice for warehouses and indoor use. Moreover, lift trucks which run on electricity are much quieter to run than other models and they do not require any fuel storage units. Among the disadvantages of the electric units is that they can not carry loads over 15,000 pounds and therefore, have a slower acceleration than gasoline powered models.

The forklift is specially designed to transport goods and materials quickly and easily. Mishaps do happen on a regular basis like is the case with nearly all kinds of machinery. There are specific safety rules that must be followed so as to keep everyone safe. The most essential problem is recruiting a qualified operator, who could show you a valid lift truck license.

There are many different types of forklifts offered on the market. Choosing which one is right for your particular needs would be based on the types of loads which you need to transport, what type of environment your equipment would have to operate in, for example, indoors or outdoors or both. When you understand your particular needs, it will be really easy to match up to the best kind of forklift. When you understand your requirements exactly you can make an accurate decision.

Another great way to get first hand experience on the different lift truck units is the try renting your lift truck. This will also enable you to see all the possible options available to you. This is a less expensive way to determine if the equipment you have in mind can keep up with you on the job site.
